He's an amazing person. He is genuinely funny and easy going. Every classes with him was amazing. The fact that he loves to tell stories which mostly funny, made my classmates and I laughed a lot. Thank you, sir!
Lecture notes
Reading
Reading is an interesting subject because I thought that I will be learning how to read but instead there are a lot more in reading. I've learned a bunch of new things such as suffixes, scanning skills, and supporting details. The lecturer was also really funny and open-minded. I usually take notes while Sir Afiq was explaining the topics as I got to ask him to explain further whenever I got confused.
Assignments
Journals
Proceeding to the first Reading assignment was really exciting because it gives me the motivation to think outside of the box. Basically, we had to study an article and come up with a topic that is related to the article. At first, I pushed myself to brainstorm but I decided to come up with a simple yet excellent topic which was the "Consequences That Students Face Due To Covid-19".
Journal 2 was a little bit challenging for me as the article was about individualism and conformity. I had a hard time deciding the topic for the assignment. Finally, I decided to go with "The Consequences of Being An Individualistic Teen". I've consulted Sir Afiq multiple times to get some feedback so that I could improve my journal writing.
For Journal 2, we got to submit the assignment using hardcopy instead of submitting them through Google Classroom. That was one of my happy days since I finally got to print an assignment and feel like an actual student.
Reading presentation
For the reading presentation, we expected it to be presented through Google Meet but ended up, we needed to film ourselves and create at least a 10 minutes video. Sir Afiq asked us to decide our topics a long time ago so that we wouldn't waste our time at the last minute. We chose "Beauty Standard" as our topic. We included the causes, effects, solutions, and many more. We planned to makeover Paan just to show how beauty standards look like nowadays. Besides recording ourselves, we also needed to make some slides and a pamphlet or a brochure as the handouts. I had fun being part of the group which consisted of Naim, Paan, Nurin, and El. We cooperated very well and surprisingly, we didn't have any problems throughout the process which was something that I was grateful for.
Midterm Test
To be honest, the midterm test for Reading was the hardest one compared to the other subjects, That was something that I've never thought of. I expected Reading to be easier. Nevertheless, I answered them pretty well even though I had some hard times struggling to remember certain things.
Last class
We were really sad when we found out that there are possibilities that we wouldn't be having the same lecturers for the next semester. Sir Afiq is an awesome lecturer which makes us hope that he will be teaching us again for the second semester. It doesn't matter what subject he teaches, as long as he teaches us. He is a very funny and easy-going guy. Everyone was really comfortable learning with him. He always tells jokes and makes us laugh. It was fun having him as one of my lecturers. By the way, look at how Sir Afiq poses as a bunny in that picture.
